20 Athletes That Deserve Jordan Brand Contracts

Name: DeMar DeRozan

Though he is a shooting guard, if you had the chance to see DeMar DeRozan play in the Drew League this summer, you have seen him destroy the faces of player after player. Whether it was from the outside or from flying over their heads, the man is a problem. His first step is quick enough to get by you, and he has enough mass to make some room when he needs to. We just might need him to (officially) throw on the Jumpman and show us how he gets down.

Name: Nate Robinson

We know what you're thinking, isn't Nate already on Jordan Brand? Well, not officially. If you check out Jordan.com you will notice that Nate isn't on the family page. With that being said, this is our official petition get him on. He is clearly the leader when it comes to retros, so why not get him in some updated tech like the Super.Fly 2 or Air Jordan XX8 and make it official?

Name: Rickie Fowler

Though we are sure that Puma is giving Rickie a lot of dough, it would be nice to see the motorcross star turned golfer switch it up. His style is crazy enough to pull in Jumpmsn fans and he brings a great young energy to the game. He has definitely struggled a little this season, but he is very young and has a trememdous upside. We definitely need more Jumpman on the course anyway.

Name: Wes Welker

We can be honest and say we wanted more from Wes in the postseason. After having to deal with "Bill" he has moved on to Denver where the hope is that things get better. Either way, with Wes running for 1,354 yds last season, we wouldn't be mad if he did it in a converted pair of Air Jordan XX8s. Plus we kinda miss the Denver vibe since Carmelo left for New York.

Name: Mike Conley

Offensive players often get all the shine, but if the old adage is true, defense is what wins game. At only 25, you can catch Mike racking up enough steals per game to make him the third best in the league. But Mike is no one trick pony-scoring 14 per game while dropping 6 dimes is nothing to laugh at.

Name: Lindsey Harding

Lindsey recently made her way to Los Angeles which should make for a lot of Kobe silhouettes in her rotation, but we think she might be better off in a few releases from Jumpman. The Aero Flight fit her style of game, as would a CP3.VI AE. We know Jordan Brand doesn't have a lot of women on the roster, and Lindsey's mature game and 11 ppg average would fit in quite well.

Name: Stephen Curry

So you are going to act like you didn't see him in the playoffs last year? Really? The kid played 38 minutes a game, racked up close to 23 per, and has the potential to shoot the lights out of every building he walks into. Don't even let him get fired up cause that brings on a different game entirely. Plus, with Steph rocking the Jumpman, Jordan Brand would have an NBA home for all those blue and yellow DTRT and Laney colorways they pump out.

Name: Serge Ibaka

Last year may not have been his best year grabbing boards, but that doesn't mean he wasn't effective. Playing with both Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant means you don't need to score much, but he still managed to put up 13 a game and provide a boost on defense with 3 blocks per game. Plus, Jordan Brand is already putting together OKC colorways for Westbrook anyway.

Name: Maria Sharapova

Besides being really awesome at the sport she plays-which we think is tennis. We really just wanted an excuse to show pictures of Maria Sharapova. But seriously, Maria is clearly a boss on the court and currently sits at No. 3 in the WTA rankings. She is already two titles in this year and her singles W-L record is 37-6. To add on to that, she has an Olympic medal and a career grand slam which puts her in a very elite club.

Name: Keegan Bradley

Earlier in the year, Keegan Bradley was spotted rocking some Jumpman kicks on the links and it got everybody talking about it. Golf shoes are boring for the most part and it would get us out more if we had some Jumpman-endorsed kicks that we could wear when slicing the ball into the next fairwway.

Name: Jeff Teague

Just because you are not familiar with his name doesn't mean he isn't a beast on the court. He currently holds it down in the ATL at the point and has plenty of room for growth. Last season he average about 14 ppg with a little more than 7 assists per game. Considering that the Hawks matched an offer to keep him should tell you the man is worth his weight in gold. Plus, we would love to see the AJXX8 in Hawks colors.

Name: Jimmie Johnson

The thing about race car drivers is that they are more about comfort than they are performance when it comes to gear. They don't need Zoom or Flight Plate, but they do need something durable they can wear the whole race. Considering Mike's love for bikes, it only makes sense to add to top dawg of racing to the team. Throw that Jumpman logo on the hood.

Name: Kevin Love

Yes we know he wears Nike. Now that we have that out of the way, we would love to see Kevin throw on the Jumpman gear. He is easily in a Top 20 player in the NBA and has been doing 26 and 13 when it comes to the numbers. Only issue here is that he is in a small market and that presents a challenge. But then again, he is a star and there is nothing wrong with Minnesota rocking some cold-weather Jumpman gear.

Name: Tommy Haas

With the exception of 2010, Tommy has been slowly increasing his titles. This year he grabbed a singles title and is sitting at a nice 35-16 W/L record. At 35 Tommy is no young gun, but his work ethic makes up for it. Currently ranked at No. 12 in the world, maybe we can have Tinker flip a trainer to get him to that number 1 spot.

Name: Matt Barnes

The thing about Matt Barnes is that a lot of people recognize him, but they can't exactly say what it is he does. Well if you pay close attention, you would know that he's great on defense and provides a boost to the team with his non-stop energy on the court. He is great at getting into the heads of his defenders, and with Chris and Blake there, he should be a shoe-in for some Jordan Brand love.

Name: Brandon Marshall

An average of 12.8 yards per catch, a total of 1,508 yards, and 11 touchdowns are all you really need to know when it comes to Brandon Marshall. The fact that he plays in Chicago only helps to fuel our Jordan connection.

Name: Thaddeus Young

Free throw percentages aside, Thaddeus is a problem. Last season he put up 14 and 7 and that was while sharing the ball wth Jrue Holiday. This upcoming season should see him come into his own and would be the perfect time to get him on the Jordan Brand roster. Plus that 76er colorway is fresh no matter how you serve it up.

Name: Navorro Bowman

Does he score? No. Does he throw the ball? No. Would you recognize him if you saw him in the streets? Probably not. Would you recognize him on the field runnning at you? Definitely. Not only did he get 96 tackles on his own last year, he asissted on 52 others which means he not only get his own, but helped the rest of the guys punish you for touching the ball. I think some nice Jumpman cleats make for a nice fit.

Name: Monta Ellis

He may not have performed like we wanted him to in the postseason, but his regular season for 2012-13 was enough to catch our eye and make him a potential bid to the Jumpman roster. He put up 19 points a game to go along with 6 assists. Word on the street is that he was grabbing four boards a game as well, but we won't hold it against him, he is only 6' 3".
