Now that the New Year has started it's time to make sure you get those kicks you've been putting off for a while and the ones you're looking forward to. It's also time to start planning for how you're gonna step your sneaker game up in 2013. 13 Sneakerhead Resolutions is a good place to start and one of the suggestions you can find there is to get out and attend a sneaker event. With that said, here's 10 Sneaker Events To Attend in 2013 and some reasons to do so.
Sneaker Friends
Location: Atlanta, Charlotte

Sneaker Friends is the ATL's most popular sneaker event. Put on by one of the biggest sneaker collector's in the game, DJ Greg Street, the event is known for straight heat. Everyone in the A and surrounding areas brings out top notch kicks when it's time for Sneaker Friends, just check the pics from SneakerTube.TV.
Crepe City

If you're really looking to step your game up this year, hop the pound and check out how London 'heads get down at Crepe City. Despite the fact that they call sneakers "crepes" or "trainers" is just the beginning of the entertainment. getting to an event like Crepe City will introduce you to a more diverse style, some new music and good food and drinks, which is always a good thing.
Sole Con

Put on by Sole Chasers, Sole Con takes place a couple of times per year in the NYC area. Whether it be in Manhattan or in Brooklyn, you can expect to find live performances, sneakerheads, vendors and even some celebs coming through.
Cleveland Got Sole

Cleveland Got Sole takes place in Cleveland and instead of just being about the sneakers, it's about raising funds for the selected charity. Last year's June event raised over $10k for the Children's Tumor Foundation. There's nothing better than talking kicks and doing a good thing at the same time.
Sneaker Swap
Location: Connecticut

Sneaker Swap has been held in Connecticut for the last two years but we've heard rumors they may be taking the show to NYC at some point in the future. The thing that separates Sneaker Swap from other sneaker events is the amount of charity. The event raises awareness and brings people together in ways that others don't. Be on the lookout for Sneaker Swap in 2013. Along with dope kicks, you can expect to see some of the most respected 'heads from the NYC area.
Sneaker Con

Sneaker Con has been connecting heads for a number of years. You can catch them in cities like NYC, Atlanta and Los Angeles and always count on a good sized turnout. Their 2013 tour start in Atlanta this weekend.
Sneaker Pimps

Sneaker Pimps might be the most well known sneaker event around and there's a reason for that. They do it right. At the recent 10 Year Anniversary event in New York City, Ghostface Killah performed for over 2 hours to cap off the event. Past events have also included artists like Kendrick Lamar, The Game and other hip hop acts, not to mention the dope kicks and collections as captured by Sneakerpedia.
Baltimore Sneaker Show

The Baltimore Sneaker Show is not only a buy, sell and trade event that brings out the DMV's biggest 'heads, it's also known for its sneaker battle. Guest judges are called on to determine who brought out the best heat. Needless to say, you see some serious sh*t. This year's Baltimore Sneaker Show is set for March 30th, so mark your calendars.
Dunkxchange

Dunkxchange started in Southern California years ago and has maintained a healthy following ever since. DXC brings out a good amount of streetwear brands to accompany the sneakers that are on display and there are always good contests and giveaways at their events.
H-Town Sneaker Summit

It's true, everything in Texas is bigger. There aren't too many sneaker events that have the pull of H-Town Sneaker Summit. It takes place in both the winter and the summer, and is known for filling the Toyota Center and killer after parties. So even if you're not a die hard sneakerhead, you can still have a good time and this year they've got big plans to go along with NBA All Star Weekend.
