Director: Lee Daniels
Stars: Zac Efron, Matthew McConaughey, Nicole Kidman

Lee Daniels is at his best when he's unshackled from seriousness. This is why Precious is a grueling slog of uplift and stereotypes, and why The Paperboy is a rollicking sleazefest propelled by Southern caricatures and the most unhinged performance we've ever seen from Nicole Kidman.

The story is pulp fiction: Two brothers (Efron and McConaughey) are investigating a death row case, as it seems mighty 'spicious. Kidman plays the perpetual orgasm who's corresponding with the perhaps wrongfully accused fellow waiting to be executed (John Cusack). Nothing is what it seems. Except for Kidman's performance, which is exactly what it seems: awesome.
