Lili Reinhart pregnancy rumors

Fans anxious for Cole Sprouse to produce a quirky heir need to chill, because Sprouse’s girlfriend and Riverdale co-star Lili Reinhart is shutting down rumors that she's pregnant.

“It’s unfortunate that one unflattering photo of my stomach circulating the internet causes hundred of people to think that I’m pregnant,” she wrote in a post on her Instagram story, according to Page Six

The photo in question shows the actress hanging out with Sprouse, Zoey Deutch, and Haley Lu Richardson in New Orleans earlier this month.

“Nope. Not pregnant,” the 21-year-old continued on Instagram. “This is just my body. And sometimes I’m bloated. Sometimes an unflattering photo is taken of me. Sometimes I go through periods of time where I gain weight.”

It’s not uncommon for overzealous fans to get excited at the smallest hint of a pregnancy. Take the crazy coverage of Cardi B’s pregnancy for example. After this photo of Reinhart surfaced, one fan straight up tweeted at Sprouse asking if he got her pregnant.

Reinhart not only denied the rumors but also turned these mostly harmless queries into a lesson for potential body shaming. “My body is something that I will NEVER apologize for,” Reinhart wrote. “My body will constantly go through change. And so will yours. And that’s fine. So let’s not put so much time and effort into caring about a stranger’s figure.”

Riverdale actress Camila Mendes offered Reinhart support online. “Inspired by you @lilireinhart,” she wrote. “I feel bloated 24/7, my weight fluctuates constantly, it comes with being a woman and should be celebrated, not criticized.”

“I used to fear the day that people start publicly criticizing my body and commenting on my weight,” she continued. “I’ve suffered too much from my own self criticism, and wasn’t sure that I could handle it from others. But seeing somebody as beautiful as Lili respond to public scrutiny by preaching and practicing self love is all it takes for me to overcome that fear. Proud to call her my friend. Let’s continue inspiring women to love their bodies.”
