AMC's Preacher adaptation may still be a month away, but that doesn't mean the (unofficially dubbed) Graphic Novel Network is going to waste all this week's Walking Deadhype without teasing us even more. The latest look at Dominic Cooper's take on the well-dressed Jesse Custer, though frustratingly brief, certainly does the trick. The full teaser, as expected, will air during this Sunday's Negan-featuring finale of The Walking Dead.
Last week, producer Seth Rogen proudly unveiled the series' take on Arseface:
"I'm really so happy and proud we were able to make Preacher," Rogen says of the process of bringing the Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon comic to life. "I think if you're a fan of the comic you'll love it, and the same if you're not." In addition to Cooper as the God-seeking preacher Jesse Custer, Preacher also stars Ruth Neggaas Tulip O'Hare and Joe Gilgun as Custer's vampire BFF Cassidy.
"We want the show to be fun for regular people with not-sick sensibilities," Rogen said at the Winter TCA Press Tour in January, as quoted byCollider. According to Rogen, one of the biggest challenges for the production was nailing their version of Arseface. "I knew we should not try to make it look exactly how it looked in the comic, and we should take some license and try to make it something maybe a little more palatable, I guess might be the word."
Preacher, produced by Rogen and Evan Goldberg, premieres May 22.
