Exclusive Clip: It's Gone Baby Gone in 'Every Secret Thing'

Common wants to find his little girl.

The last time a kidnapping drama really shook me, Casey Affleck was running around like a chicken with its head cut off and Morgan Freeman was snatching kids. But with Every Secret Thing, it looks like a new movie about missing children is going to supplant Gone Baby Gone as the thing that haunts my dreams.

Based on Laura Lippman's 2004 book and directed by Amy Berg, Every Secret Thing tells the twisted story about a child who goes missing and the investigation that follows. In the middle of the drama is a broken family and two young girls, who seven years prior the child's disappearance were put away for another kid's death. Like I said—this is nightmare-inducing shit.

Watch an exclusive clip from the movie above, with Nate Parker and Elizabeth Banks as the detectives on the case, and Common as the boyfriend to the mother who just lost her daughter. The sort of tension in this scene is just the beginning.

Every Secret Thing is in theaters, On Demand, and on iTunes on May 15.
