Avengers: Age of Ultron has filled its shortage of well-known actors by announcing the casting of Linda Cardellini and Julie Delpy. The two will join the cast of unknowns, including Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Disney confirmed the news to /Film but has been quiet on the specifics of Cardellini and Delpy's roles. A gut reaction would point toward one of them playing Captain Marvel, but rumors of her Marvel film debut coming in Avengers 2 were deaded last week. In all likelihood, neither of them will be playing an actual superhero. They'll probably use their chops for a dramatic role.

Cardellini most recently appeared in the Bloodline series and also played Sylvia Rosen, one of Don Draper's many mistresses in Mad Men. Delpy is best know for starring in Richard Linklater's Before Trilogy and both 2 Days in Paris and 2 Days in New York

Update 4/2/15 (3:59 p.m.): Marvel has issued an updated Red Carpet invite and moved Linda Cardellini from the "From the Film" category to the "Special Guest" category for actors in Marvel films and TV shows. However, Julie Delpy still appears in the "from the film" category. No word from Marvel on what exactly the change means.
