The Department of Health yesterday released a proposed image of what 'plain packaged' cigarettes will look like if the government's stardardised packaging law passes before the next general election. The packets will be the olive-green of your gran's sofa with the brand name and variant in small white letters at the bottom. The packets will also feature gross images of smoking related diseases, set to become bigger with the recent EU tobacco directive.
Australia is the only other country with plain packaging.
