Police in Bridgeton, N.J. have released dashboard camera footage of an incident which culminated in them fatally shooting a man who appears to have his hands up.

According to the Daily Dot, Leroy Tutt's vehicle was pulled over by officers with the Bridgeton Police Department on Dec. 30 after he failed to make a complete stop at a stop sign. Officers Braheme Days and Roger Worley approached the vehicle and drew their weapons after spotting a gun in the glove compartment. Tutt and his passenger, 36-year-old Jerame Reid, were instructed not to move. Both officers opened fire at Reid when he exited the vehicle following a heated verbal altercation:

Show me your fucking hands! Days yells as he struggles with the car door. Don’t you fucking move! I’m telling you, I’m going to shoot you. You’re going to be fucking dead … Jerame, you reach for something, you're going to be fucking dead.

Let me out of the fucking car, Reid says, finally emerging with his hands in front of his chest, at which point both Worley and Days open fire, killing him.

Following the shooting, Tutt was taken into custody. The Daily Dot adds that Bridgeton Police Capt. Michael Gaimari said the department did not believe posting the video was "compassionate or professional." It was only released because of a public-records request made by the South Jersey Times

An autopsy report on Reid has yet to be released, and Officers Days and Worley have been placed on administrative leave as an investigation into their actions continues. The video can be seen here, but be aware that it's very graphic.
