Warner Bros. Has No Room for Jokes in DC Comics Movies

Warner Bros. has reportedly banned jokes from any upcoming DC Comics movies.

Warner Bros. is very serious about not having jokes in any of its DC Comics movies. That's the word from HitFix, which reports Warner has become very strict about avoiding humor in all of its upcoming superhero films. And if it's true, it's probably all Green Lantern's fault.

Although Ryan Reynolds' attempt at playing the Green Lantern was filled with humor, it was more of a laughing stock than anything else. Audiences hated it only slightly less than critics, and that might have scared Warner from mixing superheroes and comedy again. But that attitude is misguided.

Just look at Guardians of the Galaxy. It's putting numbers on the board worldwide and has turned Chris Pratt from a lovable goofball into an undeniable star, without sacrificing his sense of humor. This doesn't mean everyone needs to hop on the comedy-superhero bandwagon (please don't), but it shows it's nothing to be scared of either.

It's possible this is nothing but a rumor, but if not we have to ask:

Why so serious, Warner?
