EA Sports' Madden series celebrated its 25 year anniversary in 2013.
This year's Madden NFL 15 will also celebrate a decade under the exclusive license of the National Football League. 25 years ago football in video games looked closer to modern graphing calculators than to anything you might download from the app store. 25 years is basically the difference between modern homo sapiens and the ancient homo habilis, we have the same DNA but we certainly couldn't pass for twins. YouTuber Michael Bromberg has put together this video mash-up that charts the visual evolution of Madden from its tentative, pre-historic steps to its modern incarnation; the most recent entry has dropped this week.
Amazing to see just how far the technology has progressed over the years. We're just going to watch this video and not think about how time is quietly having its way with us.
