It hardly seems possible that Seinfeld premiered 25 years ago. It was a show about nothing, but it really was about everything, not just four friends in New York City. It's also difficult to believe that the acid-tongued Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) was not only missing from the original script and doesn't even show up until the second episode, "The Stake Out."
It's a good thing Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David had to add a female character because Benes has some of the most on-point one-liners in sitcom history. Hey, it's not easy being surrounded by idiots.
