A man's tragic death in South Carolina this week is a painful reminder of why you should never play with guns.

According to authorities, Taylor Ann Kelly, 18, shot and killed 25-year-old Blake Wardell in Honea Path, S.C. Wednesday morning while helping him test a Kevlar vest that he found. WPTV reports that Kelly and Wardell were hanging out with friends in a garage when Wardell came up with the idea, instructing Kelly to shoot him with a small-caliber weapon. Tragically, the bullet hit Wardell just above the vest, striking him in the heart.

Kelly was charged with involuntary manslaughter and could face up to five years in prison if convicted.
