Before she becomes a movie star in 2016, DC is looking to give Wonder Woman the spotlight she deserves with a new digital comic book series in August titled Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman, according to the publisher’s website. The series will be available every week on DC’s digital site, and every three chapters will then be published in a print edition once a month afterwards.

The first arc will be written by Gail Simone and illustrated by Ethan van Sciver, with other creators to follow, such as Lauren Beukes, James Tynion IV, Cecil Castellucci, Cat Staggs, Chris Sprouse, Caitlin Kittredge, Amanda Diebert, Renae De Liz, and Georges Jeanty. This is the same model DC has used for digital titles like Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight and The Adventures of Superman. The series will be completely free of the publisher’s ongoing continuity, meaning it will be much easier to pick up for both new and longtime fans.

“As diehard fans of Wonder Woman, we are incredibly honored to showcase the world's most iconic female Super Hero through our Digital First publishing program," Hank Kanalz, senior vice president of Vertigo and Integrated Publishing, said in a statement on the website. “With this series creators can dream up unique takes on the Amazon Princess to give fans a new adventure every week. We’re very excited about the line-up, and readers won’t want to miss the sensational action-packed Wonder Woman stories we have planned for the coming weeks and beyond.”
