Amidst all the explosions, superheroes, and bombastic action scenes that will assault audiences this summer, there's one film with blockbuster potential that's also a bit of a departure from the season's typical fare.
Angelina Jolie stars in Disney's Maleficent, a re-imagining of the studio's classic Sleeping Beauty. Focusing on the titular villain, Maleficent explores her backstory and attempts to uncover the reasons why she's so evil. Co-starring Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, and Sam Riley, Disney's big summer release is about to face some tough competition in the coming weeks, with heavy-hitters like Edge of Tomorrow and 22 Jump Street on deck. But you know what those movies don't have? Yup, badass Ms. Jolie.
