A lot of people made "Girls" jokes about Adam Driver's casting in "Star Wars: Episode VII"—but to be fair, "Star Wars" kind of walked into that one.

ICYMI, the official cast of Star Wars: Episode VII was revealed today on the film's official website. And, also ICYMI, a lot of people shared their thoughts about the cast list on Twitter—specifically, there were a lot of Girls jokes, because Adam Driver was confirmed to star in the film. (To be fair, Star Wars kind of walked into that one.)

There were also some "Please Mr. Kennedy" jokes, à la Inside Llewyn Davis, which Driver also appeared in with fellow confirmed Star Wars: Episode VII star, Oscar Isaac:

OSCAR ISAAC AND ADAM DRIVER SANG ABOUT OUTER SPACE IN ILD AND NOW LOOK http://t.co/ghoEySdp1K
It's strange Oscar Isaac & Adam Driver are in Star Wars 7, especially since they both told Mr. Kennedy they didn't want to go to outer space
If Episode VII is bad, will I be more let down as a Star Wars fan or as a fan of movies with Adam Driver & Oscar Isaac? #PleaseMisterKennedy

But enough of that. What did people have to say about a Girls star leaving Brooklyn on the G train to outer space?

Adam Driver will be in the new Star Wars film, meaning the next film in the series will be set in Brooklyn.
Congratulations to Adam Driver on the casting of Hipster Fett in the new Star Wars movie.
Greenpoint's going Galactic: #AdamDriver is officially in Star Wars Episode VII.
El casting de Star Wars VII tiene de todo: desde el hipster de Girls hasta el cura Merrin, pasando por Llewyn Davis y Gollum
Totally saw this coming. Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver reprising their roles as Llewyn Davis and Al Cody in #StarWarsEpisodeVII
Does this mean Star Wars can't exist in the Girls universe?
Now that Adam Driver is confirmed for #StarWars, bring on @lenadunham in Princess Leia hairbuns. On her head.
I hope Adam driver blows a load on R2-D2 and c3po, doe.
Adam Driver is going to play the villain in the new Star Wars who totally gives off mixed signals. http://t.co/i3J2wzjGhO
