A South Carolina pub made the conscious decision to ban all patrons carrying concealed firearms, specifically referring to them as "douchebags."
The sign, which was posted in the door of Clemson, S.C.'s Backstreets Pub and Deli, went viral, sparking the ire of several gun supporters. This led to a rapid increase in Yelp reviews (seriously, three to over 300 in a day?), and it's unclear if some of the complaints are valid, or if they were just part of a concerted effort to tank the pub's rating:
Hey Douchebag!!!! I hope you close your doors for good and never make another penny in AMERICA!!! Its where your rights to own and operate that said business is protected with BLOOD and GUNS and The LIVES of AMERICANS across the world!!
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
A one-star rating and no mention of the food? How productive. However, posts like this were countered by glowing reviews that praised the owner for standing up to the "douchebags":
And congratulations to the owner for standing up to the idiot, grasshopper-dick morons that feel the need to carry a concealed firearm to a college bar
These gun nut dipshits do not represent responsible gun owners, they are the lunatic right wing fringe and you really wouldn't want idiots like that in your bar anyway
How about the FIRST amendment you fucking mouth breathing tit heads - if you don't like the guys sign, go SOMEWHERE ELSE. He has as much a right to post it as you do to carry the weapon you will never use.
Oh, and by the way - as he is not the US GOVERNMENT - he is not "violating your second amendment right" by not allowing guns in his private business - you don't even know shit about what you are constantly blabbing about
Though the pub's Facebook page seems to have been shut down, the owner—who's also a gun owner—hit critics with the "Sorry, I'm not sorry," explaining that the sign was posted in response to "gun nuts" and their "irrational" behavior. He added that you're most definitely a douchebag if you bring a gun to a college bar, which is hard to argue with.
