Eric André (The Eric André Show), who's known for his absurdist humor (seriously...have any of you been on his website? It's kind of a trip) has been cast as a series regular in the upcoming FX comedy pilot, Man Seeking Woman. Joining André as regulars are Britt Lower (Unforgettable) and Maya Erskine (Betas). Jay Baruchel is officially set to play the lead.
The show is based on Simon Rich's book of short stories, The Last Girlfriend On Earth, Man Seeking Woman, which is described as a sweet, funny, and absurd take on dating. Deadline reports that Baruchel will play Josh Greenberg, "a naive romantic on a desperate quest for love." After his girlfriend breaks up with him, Josh enters the dating scene—"a nightmarish hellscape of untold horror."
André is set to play Mike, Josh’s cocky best friend, Lower is signed on as Liz, Josh’s intimidating sister, and Erskine will be Maggie, the ex-girlfriend that drove Josh into that aformentioned hellscape. This GIF of Eric André is probably an accurate representation of the show.
