After three years of being on the air, Piers Morgan Live has gotten the axe. The CNN show anchored by British journalist Piers Morgan has seen lows in ratings as of late, which caused CNN president Jeff Zucker to pull the plug. Officially, the show does not have a final air date, but The New York Times reports that the show will likely end in March.

Piers Morgan Live was intended to be a vehicle to replace the storied Larry King Live program after Larry King's retirement. It isn't clear what direction CNN will go still fill in the gap left by the series now, but Mediate speculates that recent hire Bill Weir may be the next choice.
