Tragedy struck in Michigan when a man accidentally shot himself in the head while trying to teach his girlfriend how to handle handguns safely.
According to the Oakland Press, the Oakland County Sheriff's Department said the man elected to demonstrate by pointing all three of his handguns to his head. Sadly, the third weapon was loaded and discharged when he pulled the trigger. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Oakland Press adds that there were children ages seven, 10 and 12 in the home at the time of the incident. None of them were harmed, nor did they witness the tragedy. According to the man's girlfriend, he had been drinking all day, though the medical examiner said his blood-alcohol level was unknown.
