This New "300: Rise Of An Empire" Trailer Is A Stylized Bloodbath Worthy Of The Gods

Apparently everybody in ancient Greece has a six pack.

If you have been waiting patiently for a follow-up to Zack Snyder’s 300, Warner Brothers is ready to deliver in style this March when director Noam Murro’s 300: Rise of an Empire finally comes to theaters. Now the latest trailer for the movie has been released, and it is basically two and a half minutes of bloodshed, slow motion explosions, shouted dialogue, whispered dialogue, and chiseled abs. But were you really expecting anything different?

The story of this installment involves the Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) leading an army to defeat Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and Artemisia (Eva Green) in an epic battle on the water. None of that really matters, though, because you won’t walk out of Rise of an Empire with a deep understanding of ancient Greek history. Instead, expect to have your eye sockets overcome with sex, violence, and the sights of people in much better shape than you. Hopefully that Black Sabbath tune makes the final cut.

300: Rise of an Empire hits theaters on March 7.
