Just before noon, UMass Boston evacuated its McCormack Building following a report of a person with a firearm on campus. Now, both the university and the Massachusetts State Police are saying that the report was false and the scene is clear:
UMass Boston Alert: The earlier report of a gunman on campus has been cleared. The McCormack building has been reopened for business.
There were reports of a threat at @UmassBoston. There is no threat. False report. Scene is clear.
Earlier, Harvard University was forced to evacuate four buildings after a report that explosives had been placed inside. Students at both universities are taking final exams this week.
