The NYPD's attempt to crack down on the Weed World vans selling marijuana-flavored lollipops proved to be a bit embarassing. Apparently, everyone except for them already had figured out that these weed-flavoried treats only taste like weed, they don't actually get people high.

The New York Post reports that the police sent officers to "field test" the pops, but quickly learned they do not contain marijuana. The Post says that a law enforcement source told them "Maybe we can slap them with a charge of lying to the public." Still, the NYPD refused to go down without fighting, allegedly targeting vans for "aggressive sales tactics."

Gregory “Ghost” Ware, a Weed World manager, explained that the pops contain “hemp oil" that "mixes with your body and gives off a nice, natural buzz." In other words, customers were being hoodwinked. Antoine Johnson, 25, told the Post “I don’t feel nothing. I don't feel high yet," after purchasing 5 of them for $20—robbery.

So the lesson here is to never trust anything the cops can't bust you for.
