How embarrassing.
Three World Trade Center construction workers were arrested yesterday morning for selling weed right at the site. Seven months ago, the Port Authority was tipped off about the alleged drug ring, leading to an investigation of three Sorbrara Construction employees.
According to its website, the Long Island company takes pride in being "one of the most highly regarded concrete superstructure firms in New York City." Once again, how embarrassing.
Cesar Rivera, Brian McDermott and John Fama each face five counts of drug possession and sale. According to the New York Post, authorities are going to "lean on them to give up their source."
The Post notes that it's relatively easy to sell drugs at a construction site because there aren't any cops lurking around.
