The ‘80s were a highpoint for crime-comedies, and director Frank Oz delivered one of the decade's classics with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine as con artists swindling their way through the French Riviera, DRS works in large part because of their perfect performances.

The bloodless crime element takes a backseat to the comedy here, following in the tradition of The Sting, and other character-driven, joke-heavy caper comedies.
