Food trucks are becoming very popular in D.C., and a recently-created app will make it that much easier for anyone seeking a mobile lunch to find it. Yesterday, smartphone app developer John Jones launched an iOS program known as TruckToMe.

The free download maps out "a few dozen" food trucks in the D.C. area as they crawl to their usual locations: Franklin and Farragut Squares, L'Enfant Plaza, Union Station and Rosslyn, VA. Because this app is extremely useful, it also provides each truck's latest tweet.

TruckToMe's early list of food trucks isn't quite as vast as Food Truck Fiesta or Washingtonian's daily listing, but the app looks great and launches with rather quickly. At the moment, it's only available on devices using Apple's iOS, and there's no word on whether a version is in the works for Android phones.
