British Airways Investigating Twitter Hacking After Account Posted Profanity-Laced Retweet

Oops.

None

British Airways is in some hot water today after their Twitter account retweeted an offensive, profanity-laced tweet from another user. Without the alleged racial epithet, the message reads, "@JoeLadd @British_Airways F*** You. F****** cancelling my flight! #bunchofc***s." Yikes! When the airline finally noticed, they not only deleted the tweet but they issued an apology to its 210,000 followers stating "Apologies for the last RT. We are sorry for any offence caused and are investigating how this may have happened."

Just like many celebrity Twitter users who have had their own social media faux pas, Sky News is reporting that the British Airways account was hacked. A likely excuse reason, right?
