Deadline is reporting that NBC has decided to cancel Animal Practice after only a month, due to sagging ratings, highlighted by a dismal 1.0 among adults ages 18-49 last night. The network will replace it with the second season of Whitney starting on November 14.

After being previewed during the network’s Olympic coverage, Animal Practice failed to gather a sizable fanbase or a strong critical endorsement. NBC had been waiting to air new episodes of Whitney and Community until a hole opened up in the schedule, and now it looks like Whitney was the lucky winner this time. We’ll keep you updated on the future of Community when it becomes clear.
