HTC's flagship One X phone is barely six months old, but it's already getting upgraded in a big way. Today the company announced the One X+, a widely rumored spec bump that introduces enough new features to make the phone even more competitive in a post-iPhone 5 landscape.
First off, the One X+ ships with Android Jelly Bean, making it the first HTC phone, and one of only a few Android phones in general, to ship with the latest version of the OS. It also gets a bigger, 2,100 mAh battery that provides up to 50% more battery life than the One X.
That battery powers an all-new Tegra 3 quad-core processor that clocks in at 1.7 ghz. HTC says the new processor provides up to 67 percent better performance than before.
And if that's not enough upgrades for you, storage on the One X+ has been bumped up to 64 GB standard. The phone, available exclusively in matte black, will launch in Europe and North Asia this month with a U.S. date still pending. Pricing not yet announced.
