Everyone who grew up in the 90s remembers that yearning sensation deep in their loins over the thought of getting a Charizard in a pack of Pokemon cards. As someone who did get one, I can tell you firsthand that it was awesome. And that that sucker isn't worth nearly as much money right now as I thought it would be.
Either way, Charizard will always hold a special place in our hearts. And Nintendo probably knows that, which could explain why their latest Japan-only (for now) 3DS XL hardware has Chari's big, dumb, awesome face plastered all over it.
And check out the back. Hell yeah, he's breathing fire.
This is way cooler than the Pikachu 3DS XL that was revealed in Japan back in August (which, by the way, we recently learned is heading to Europe). Which would you rather have: a giant yellow hunk of plastic, or one with a damn fire-breathing dragon on it?
There's no word on whether the Charizard 3DS XL will head outside Japan, but judging by the fact that it'll currently only be available at Japanese Pokemon Center stores—and only to people who send in a form and "win" the chance to buy it—our hopes aren't high.
