A fight between a mother and daughter in Dallas, TX was sparked by the placement of a bloody tampon. 52-year-old Sandra Mays told police that her daughter, 35-year-old Yakia Mays, left a "used bloody tampon on the bathroom counter top." As if there hadn't already been enough blood, Yakia Mays ran into the kitchen to retrieve a knife, then rushed her mother while screaming, "I am going to kill you."
Fearing for her life, Sandra Mays locked herself in a back bedroom, but her daughter tried to break down the door, yelling, "I am going to stab you in the middle of your fucking forehead." Discouraged, she returned to her bedroom with the knife.
Police say that the door to the bedroom that Mays hid behind was nearly ripped off the frame, and that they found the knife on her daughter's nightstand. Yakia Mays was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, and is being held on $25,000 bond. She was sentenced to four months probation for aggravated assault in July 2006. This went well beyond the typical mother-daughter spat.
