Diane Kruger has signed on to new FX pilot The Bridge, directed by Miss Bala director Gerardo Naranjo, Deadline is reporting. The series is based on a Scandinavian show Bron/Broen, and will follow two detectives - one from the El Paso, Texas, portrayed by Kruger, and one from Mexico - as they work together to catch a serial killer who is striking on both sides of the border. Kruger's character, Sonya North, is "described as a dogged cop who lacks tact, warmth and empathy."
The series is expected to go into production between Los Angeles and El Paso this fall.
