According to The Hollywood Reporter, Suburgatory has landed Malin Akerman to portray the pivotal role of main character Tessa's absentee mother.
Akerman will appear in both the Thanksgiving and Christmas episodes of the show's upcoming season, and her character is described as a "beautiful and free-spirited singer-songwriter" who Tessa (Jane Levy) has never met. She reportedly "has a need to form a relationship with Tessa with the hope that their troubled past won't resurface." Since this is television, however, expect it to resurface.
Suburgatory is set to return for its second season this October on ABC.
