The 40-year-old virgin has been eclipsed. Cabaret singer Pam Shaw, who performs as “The Sexational Pam,” is finally ready to lose her virginity at 70-years-old. Shaw has avoided sexual intercourse because she believes in waiting until marriage. This lends credibility to the argument that if you wait for Mr. Right, you could wind up waiting forever.
Shaw says she nearly married an oil rig worker back in 1976, but had a change of heart. She also claims she’s had numerous suitors—including Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck—over the years, and many were fooled by her on-stage attire:
“Men saw the outfits I wore on stage and thought I would be easy. But I’ve never really been intimate with a man, just a bit of kissing. I had a sexy stage name and dressed sexy but that was all for my career.”
As Drake reminded us on “Cameras,” all is not as it seems. Regardless, Shaw is old enough to be a grandmother, but she’s finally ready to become a woman. Hopefully it’s not too late.
