"The Rifle's Spiral" is the latest single from The Shins' fourth LP, Port of Morrow, and the music video is pretty mesmerizing. Unfortunately for non-gamers, though, you have to have a 3DS (or borrow a friend's) to view it in all its 3D glory.

The video above is a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of "The Rifle's Spiral"'s music video, which was directed by award-winning commercial and music video director and animator Jamie Caliri.

We'd rather be seeing The Shins at Coachella last/this weekend, but watching their latest video in 3D is almost as good, right? That's what we're going to tell ourselves.

Nintendo recently rolled out their series of 3D music videos on the 3DS's video channel, including Wale's "Sabotage", B.o.B.'s "So Good", OK Go's "Skyscrapers", Skrillex's "Breakn' a Sweat", Death Cab's "Underneath The Sycamore", and I Fight Dragons' "Save World Get Girl".

Check out the video if you have a 3DS and let us know what you think in the comments or on Twitter.
