Blue Ribbon has the food game on lock, and their latest venture is this sleek restaurant located inside of the Thompson LES Hotel on Orchard Street in New York. Replacing Shang (which people loathed), the Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya seats 150 and features izakaya-style dining, which involves eating from low tables while seated on mats.
Despite the more fancy appearance, America’s tenth Blue Ribbon still serves eight different types of rice and flies in fresh fish from Japan every day. The detailed menu features everything from small Asian plates to massive rib dishes.
It’s open nightly from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. for those Lower East Side night-crawlers, so check it out. If not for the amazing menu, do it for the décor, but you’d be a fool not to indulge.
