Microsoft Won't Be Unveiling New Xbox Any Time Soon, Definitely Not At E3

Microsoft has shot down a very exciting rumor that we'd be seeing new Xbox hardware at E3 this year, according to Bloomberg, who write that the Xbox 720 (which is not its name) will debut in 2013 at the earliest.

“There will be no talk of new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon,” Microsoft rep David Dennis told the site. “For us, 2012 is all about Xbox 360.” We don't blame them, since the 360 has been outselling the Wii and PS3 for some time, and will likely continue to do so this year.

With the WIi U still coming this year, Microsoft's likely going to be second out of the next-gen hardware gate—unless Sony surprises us with a PS4 announcement at E3. That's not likely, though, as they've already stated specifically that it's not going to happen.

Are you looking forward to the Wii U, or would you rather have a new Xbox or PlayStation to look forward to? What if the next Xbox is tablet-based, like some rumors have claimed? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
