The five maps above show (in order) how each of the United States felt about slavery prior to theEmancipation Proclamation, women's suffrage laws before the 19th Amendment was passed in 1920, segregation before theBrown v. Board of Educationdecision, interracial marriage laws back before 1967 when miscegenation was deemed unconstitutional and gay marriage rights today. It's pretty obvious who got it right and who didn't.
