The five maps above show (in order) how each of the United States felt about slavery prior to the Emancipation Proclamation, women's suffrage laws before the 19th Amendment was passed in 1920, segregation before the Brown v. Board of Education decision, interracial marriage laws back before 1967 when miscegenation was deemed unconstitutional and gay marriage rights today. It's pretty obvious who got it right and who didn't.

Prepare to hold your head high with pride, or hang it in shame.
