Though eliminations on The X Factor usually tend to be pretty dramatic, none have been just as much so as that of now-former contestant, Rachel Crow, that took place last night.
The 13-year-old was eliminated from the singing competition after receiving the lowest number of votes, and, as can be seen in the video above, she didn't take it too well. Somehow, though, as her dreams were crushed by the iron fist of the entertainment business, she simultaneously gained the sympathy of America, who immediately looked for someone to blame. Who, possibly, could be so cruel? Since the results of that particular round of the competition had been left in a deadlock by judge Nicole Scherzinger, who decided to let America vote to choose who went home instead of saving either contestant herself, that scapegoat turned out to be her.
When Scherzinger went on stage after fellow judges Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid, and Paula Abdul to console Crow, she was booed immensely by the audience, and a hashtag called "#FireNicole" soon popped up on Twitter from fans calling for her to be fired from the series.
Crow gave a statement to People Magazine regarding her elimination and all the hate on Nicole, saying, "I want to say to all those people, 'Stop, Please.' [Scherzinger] is the nicest person and the most beautiful person inside and out. ... She is amazing, and I don't understand why people are taking it out on her. It's no one's fault. It's not even America's fault. It's no one person's fault. It's just what God had in store for me. And I will be okay."
You can see the elimination in full above. Do you think Scherzinger should have saved Crow?

The X-Factor format of having he judges vote on the bottom two contestants was supposed to fix these travesties which constantly occur on American Idol (and the reason I quit watching Idol a couple of years ago). That though, supposes that one has intelligent judges that can discern levels of talent and the “X” factor, which is not the case with Nicole Scherzinger. Perhaps she was jealous that Rachel has more talent than Nicole ever will. Regardless, I’ve watched my last episode of this show. If I want a higher level of intelligence and intellectual honesty, I’ll watch infomercials.

Honestly, i think Rachael definately should have stayed on the show. And the thing about this show is judges don't like each other so they purposely vote off they're contestants. It's really messed up. I think it was unfair that Nicole did this, because she just didn't want ot take the blame for the results. But, i think Rachael will get a record deal in the future.it was horrible to see her so upset and Marcus should have gone home. Maybe Nicole deserved the booing but not all the aftermath hate

Had Nicole right out said "Im saving Marcus/sending home Rachel" people wouldnt be so upset right now. I dont know where Rachels fanbase was when the voting happened. Seems they only rally to hate. Personally, i like Rachel, but this is the top five and I think it was her time to go. Her last few performences have been both week and steriotypically inapproptiate and age/cuteness wears off very quick. Also, Marcys has shown nothing but versitality with his music and TACT with facing potential elimination. When you enter a competition you have a chance to loose, and if you think you dont, regardless of your age, you have quite the ego. Im only a few years older than Rachel and id have simply been grateful for the exposure because shes obviously getting signed

What this inexcusable dumb move by Nicole did was expose a huge flaw in the X Factor's format.By choosing to wimp out and create a tie Nicole forced them to revert to the votes. But these are the votes for Wednesday's two songs, not the supposed " Sing for Your Life " performance of which Rachel's was clearly the better. If they want to be fair in the case of a tie, the audience should vote again for that performance, and the results could be announced the following week. Besides being fair, this method would ensure anticipation, and guarantee good ratings....are you listening, Simon? As for Nicole S., she is paid for making hard decisions, not acting like a shrinking violet. She deserves to be fired.
