Ever since its debut on October 11, 1975, Saturday Night Live has been the leading force in comedy and satire. Over the years, the show has featured some of the world's best comedians and some of the most high-profile figures in pop-culture as guest stars. And, throughout the 36-year history, one man has been behind all of the laughter: series creator Lorne Michaels.

Michaels has since evolved from the producer of a late night sketch show into the most dominant and influential person in all of comedy. At the mere snap of his fingers it seems like he can have A-list Hollywood stars, Super-Bowl-winning quarterbacks, and even presidential hopefuls appear on the show for a few yucks.

Proving that he's actually quite funny himself, the SNL overseer has also been featured in countless sketches. His skills may not be on par with the likes of SNL alums like Phil Hartman, Will Ferrell, or Gilda Radner, but his dry, deadpan delivery can easily get more laughs than most of his youthful counterparts. So to celebrate his 67th birthday, we’re taking a look at Lorne Michaels’ 25 Best Saturday Night Live Cameos.
