In Georgia, a business owner is making his stance clear on how he feels about President Barack Obama and his term as our first African-American Commander-in-Chief. So business owner Bill Looman decided to share his opinions with the world through a sign on the front of his shop and the sides of his trucks which say: "New Company Policy: We are not hiring until Obama is gone."
Choosing to believe that Republicans have the cure to his financial woes, Looman commented on his new rule, saying, "I've got people that I want to hire now, but I just can't afford it. And I don't foresee that I'll be able to afford it unless some things change in [Washington] D.C." In a climate where folks are marching in the street to protest the lack of job opportunities in America, Mr. Looman can easily hire people to work for his company, U.S. Cranes, LLC., but instead chooses to fan the flames of "not-so-hidden" racism.
So, it's no surprise that he has gotten so many negative responses since one of the photos went viral on the Internet. In the clip, he doesn't expound on why he cannot hire anyone, but it seems as if he is just refusing to hire people to forward the GOP agenda. Let us not forget that it was a Republican who put us in this position in the first place. What do you think of Mr. Looman's actions towards our 44th president? Racism or realism? Mr. Looman neither said nor did anything racist in the video posted here. This article, however, did, when it took what was a political issue and made it into a racial one. Shame on you. Then you made an unfounded claim that this man could hire, citing only evidence that people are "marching in the streets" protesting unemployment. This claim didn't address the man's claim that he wasn't financially able to hire. You may not agree with his conclusion that Obama's policies are the cause of this problems, but slinging mud at the man by calling him racist and calling him a liar is dishonest and shameful behavior. Comparing the two of you, Mr. Looman is the sensible one.

It is not racist to disagree with someone of another race. I think a lot of people have forgotten that. Mr. Looman gave the reason that he cannot afford to hire more employees due to the current administration. It's his opinion, and if I remember correctly, everyone is entitled to his/her own.

Before you can judge a man, learn about him. At the Examiner, Mr. Looman has been something of a hobby of mine as of late. I have written several stories about him. Links follow, but here's the gist... Before he told the TV station that it was Obama's policies that kept him from hiring, he told a member of Americans Against the Tea Party that he would start hiring "as soon as there wasn't a Muslim in the White House." He posted a rabid, anti-Islamic, anti-Obama, survivalist rant on his Facebook page. He was involved in a botched plan to raid and takeover a Madisonville, Tenn. courthouse. Looman and his fellow North Georgia Militia members fled back across the border, leaving two members behind to be arrested, tried and convicted on weapons charges. After all this, he was drummed out of Oath Keepers. He was saved from obscurity by a Georgia land developer named Jim Frith who gave Looman all his proxy votes (one vote for each unowned lot) at the Beaver Run subdivision in Northwest Georgia. Looman used the proxy votes to appoint himself president and pack the board of directors with fellow North Georgia Militia people. They use intimidation to get the non-militia residents to toe the militia line or face "the consequences." Now, the links. When I first moved to South Georgia a year ago I was shocked and appalled at the amount of rampant racisim still alive there. Sad and sickening.

Kevin Clark is practicing bait-and-hook racism with this article. The line "...his term as our first African-American Commander-in-Chief," in which he draws attention to race is irresponsible and manipulative. It uses an emotional hook to distract and enrage readers. Regardless of the intent of the business in question, I am tired of the way so many in the media try to tag "racism" on anyone that disagrees with Obama. Like every president before him, we need to hold Obama to his own merits and stop using demagoguery and race as a crutch. Disclaimer: I once supported Obama. Never will again.
