You already know how awesome Google and Samsung's flagship Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone looks to be, and now we get a little more information about the phone's pending release thanks to an official announcement from Verizon. The country's largest wireless carrier has confirmed that it will be getting the Galaxy Nexus "later this year." Earlier reports placed the launch date in November.

Pricing of the device is still unknown, and while the last Nexus  and Samsung's latest Galaxy S II phones have sold for $199 at launch, some spec'ed out 4G LTE phones like the Galaxy Nexus have been going for as much as $299.

No other carriers aside from Verizon have yet been announced, although Google and Samsung said they had been working on a version of the phone that would work on the HSPA network used by AT&T and T-Mobile.
