HTC is partnering with Beats by Dr. Dre for an entirely necessary and not-at-all opportunistic cross-branding.

The two brands have been tinkering with mobile devices, adding Beats sound innovations to make the mobile listening experience more audiophile-friendly, a market that mobile devices have flirted with before, but never full-out hit on.

“For Beats by Dr. Dre, this represents a critical step in our continued mission to clean up the destruction of audio caused by the digital revolution and re-engineer how sound is delivered, so the consumer feels the music the way the artist intended,” said Beats chairman and CEO Jimmy Iovine in a press release, probably adding “at a premium-ass price” under his breath.

You’ve been warned. Fuck lil' Johnny’s college fund, you’d better start setting money aside for this now. You wouldn’t want to be listening to music on your cell phone and disappoint Soulja Boy with your subpar audio.
