Between his days smoking weed and pumping iron and his days helping the state of California get run into the ground financially, Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in a few action films. One of the first was this adaptation of the popular serial novels of the 1930s, based on a warrior named Conan (whose philosophy of life can be summed up simply in this clip from the film) whose workout regimen involve punching horses in the face and beheading lots of people. Having been enslaved after watching his mother herself get beheaded by an evil warlord named Doom (James Earl Jones), Conan sets out to exact revenge.
A 3-D remake of the film starring Jason Momoa, who plays Khal Drogo on HBO’s new fantasy series Game of Thrones is set to be released later this year, so be sure to peep the original before it gets digitized.
