Rockstar really outdid themselves with this one. Instead of running over prostitutes to get your money back after boinking them, L.A. Noire features a much slower approach to GTA's bang-bang and kablammo. Searching for clues in a sleazy 1940s city isn't easy, but this game's magnificent facial system [Ed.—uhhhhhhh...] allows you to tell who's really lying, and what they're lying for. It may have gotten a little slow in parts, but it definitely felt like a scene right out of The Maltese Falcon or any one of the other films that this game was obviously inspired by. We're not saying it was perfect, we're just saying 1) extra credit for innovation, and 2) hey, Rockstar: moar pleez.
