The last time Twitter rolled out something "new" people balked and stuck with the old. Hopefully the reception to the social media service's new homepage fares a bit better.
Twitter has started switching over the company's homepage to an all-new design featuring new colors, new tagline, and rearranged entry fields.
Gone is the old "Discover what's happening right now, anywhere in the world" phrase, and its place is the new "Follow your interests: Instant updates from friends, industry experts, favorite celebrities, and what's happening around the world."
The new homepage makes it easier for new users to sign up thanks to a more prominent sign-up field. The "Search Twitter" box also gets a more a prominent placement on the page.
We think it's an overall improvement. It's cleaner, clearer, and easier to use. There's no word on how long the roll out will take, so all we can say is, be on the look out.
