While Spotify works to get U.S. music companies onboard so it can come stateside, the popular music streaming service announced that it will start streaming live shows starting in April.

The first streamed show will be concert held at the Koko nightclub in London. Bands will include Delphic, Pony Pony Run Run, and The Naked and Famous. Spotify says the show will be the start of a larger concert-streaming service.

Even if Spotify makes its way to the U.S., we doubt American music companies will ever let any company stream concerts over the Net for free. Well, at least concerts with artists people care about. But here's to hoping.
