VOTE: Will "Machete" Revive Lindsay Lohan's Movie Career?

LL_MachetePeople are always talking about Complex cover girl Lindsay Lohan and her indecent exposures, rehab stints, incarceration, and unimpeachable movie career. OK, that last one was a lie. Not since 2004, when she was starring in Tina Fey's comedy Mean Girls, has anyone really given a damn about her projects (no offense to anyone who owns Georgia Rule and I Know Who Killed Me on DVD). A career turnaround for LiLo may start tomorrow, when she returns to the big screen in Robert Rodriguez's amazing "Mexploitation" flick Machete. Lohan plays the drug-addicted nymph daughter of a shady businessman who frames Machete, an ex-Federale played by ex-con-turned-character-actor-turned-leading-man Danny Trejo, for murder. Playing a cool part in a cool movie completely turned around the careers of John Travolta (Pulp Fiction) and Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler). Can it do the same for Lindsay? You tell us.

I'll say yes if she keeps her head on straight and life in order.

No because no matter how much buzz she gets off this movie, if she can't change the way she's living, she'll still be a fuck up. One movie ain't gonna turn that around.

Actually Sin City was the movie that resurrected Mickey Rourke, not the Wrestler ...

I think they meant in terms of headlining a movie. People took notice of him again with "Sin City", but Rourke was part of a large ensemble cast. With "The Wrestler", he was the star headlining the movie--something he hasn't done since the early 90's.
