Lil Nas X performed “Dead Right Now” and “That’s What I Want,” off his debut studio album Montero, last week on the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, as well as a cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” which you can watch up top.

Dolly revealed Wednesday that she “immediately” heard Lil Nas X’s cover, and came away feeling “surprised,” “honored,” and “flattered.” She also thought his rendition was “really good.”

I was so excited when someone told me that Lil Nas X had done my song #Jolene. I had to find it and listen to it immediately…and it's really good. Of course, I love him anyway. I was surprised and I'm honored and flattered. I hope he does good for both of us. Thank you @LilNasX https://t.co/w7vJWGypOp

Lil Nas X succinctly responded to Dolly’s kind words, writing, “HOLY SHIT.”

Lil Nas X is coming off a stellar debut week for Montero, moving 126,000 album equivalent units, which would normally be enough to lay claim to the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Unfortunately, Montero was going up against the freight train known as Certified Lover Boy. Drake’s latest project finished in first for a third consecutive week.

Three of his songs are currently in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and a total of 11 tracks are dispersed throughout the chart, making the self-proclaimed “first one hit wonder of all time” to accomplish such a feat.

wow i just became the first one hit wonder of all time to have 11 songs on billboard all at once https://t.co/5Jxs9vMOsU
